No AMBER alert at this time.
The CECOMS Center serves as the coordination point for the Northeast Ohio AMBER Alert system. This system covers an eight county region and functions under the direction of the Northeast Ohio AMBER Alert Board. The eight counties include; Cuyahoga, Medina, Lake, Lorain, Geauga, Ashtabula, Erie and Huron.
In the event law enforcement requires an AMBER Alert for an abducted child, the request is phoned in to CECOMS whereupon operators document the information and broadcast the information. The transmission is sent via the Emergency Alert System (EAS) to the FCC primary station and then distributed to all radio, cable and television broadcast stations in the listening and viewing area.
For further information on the AMBER Alert System call the Cuyahoga County Division of Emergency Services at 216-443-5700.
